Poncho with pizzaz

I saw a poncho a local boutique that was really cute. I thought I can make that really fast. I could not really find the fleece I really wanted but thought this would be nice. I whipped up 2 in less than a half hour. I think they turned out really cute. I also made the arm warmers to match out of the leftovers, I think the hot pink ribbon really set it off. If you need a fast and cute gift for a little lady consider a poncho. They are wonderful in the car , not to heavy.

Jammin Jammies

My grown daughter mentioned she needed new pajama pants. I made her several pairs. When my other 2 daughters found out I had made her some PJs they wanted some. So back to work making more pj. Before I knew it my daughter in law wanted some. I made them all 4 pairs. I used up a lot of my stash. It was a really good way to use some old fabric up.

The pattern I used was Sew Easy Pajama Pants by Cindy Taylor Oates. It's a great pattern. Really simple and the girls love the fit. This just might be a pajama year for Christmas this year.

It's finally over

Well it has come and gone. The Toy Story costumes turned out great in my opinion. Lucy was Little Bo Peep. Sophie was Jessie. Mac was Buzz Lightyear. Sam the oldest is not into costumes. We did talk him into beind Sid the mean kid in the story. He just had to wear a tee shirt. Now to get to work on Christmas.

Halloween is almost here

The grandkids wanted to dress as Toy Story characters this year. I know not very creative. Sophie is Jessie. Lucy will be Little Bo Peep. And finally Mac will be his hero, Buzz Lightyear. I am so grateful I still had the pattern as it was discontinued a few years back. There was 39 pieces to the pattern. Mac got to wear his to his party at pre-school. The girls will be up in a few days.

Fall is coming

Now that the parties are over it's time to start fall clothes. Sophie is growing up and likes more grown up stuff. I just made her a soft knit dress by Modkid. It is the Abigail A-line gored dress. I used the Michael Miller knits by Patty Young. The dress if fun and Funky. Really easy to care for and is comfortable to wear. Very fast and easy to make. I think I will have to make legging to wear on those cold days to come.

Sophie's Party

It's Party Time Again.

This time it's Sophie's party. She is 7 and wanted a cooking party. She likes a lots pf colors. I made aprons and chef hats for each girl with their name on them.

While we waited for all the girls to arrive they made a banner to hang up. It was called Sophie's Cafe. Actually they made 2 as there was so many girls.

The girls all made a pizza for their lunch.

The girls than decorated cupcakes to take home. They had begs of icing with differant colors and tips for decorating. There was also a lot of differant toppings. Everyone had a great time doing 2 cupcakes. They did the cupcakes while the pizzas baked.

The table was set with polka dot glasses to matcg each apron. Bright colored candy was sprinked on the table. Each girl also had a matching napkin.

I made a banner out of the same fabric as the aprons.

Each girl also took home a picture frame with a picture of the group at the party. The frames were painted to coordinate with their apron.

My daughter Tracy made the Topsy Turvy cake. It was in all Sophie's favorite colors.

The 2 sisters enjoyed the party along with their friends.

Everything turned out perfect. The party was so much fun.

Lucy's Ballet Party

Our Lucy recently turned 5. She wanted a Ballet Party.

My daughter Tracy and I had a great time putting it together. Just seeling the smiles on the girls faces was worth all the work.

I made tutus for each of the girls. Here is Sophie seeing how many she can get on at one time.

Tracy made ballarina barretes for the girls. They were super cute.

Each girl had a party hat with a pom pom on top.

I painted pink and green polka dots on the glasses. They looked really cute with their little bows.

We made a birthday banneer with Lucy's name on it.

The girls all took home a group photo in pink or green frames.

There was two girls there to teach a ballet dance. The girls all had a wonderful time. Here are the rest of the pictures from the wobderful fun party.
