Inspiration

I was thrilled to see my local fabric store displaying so many kids clothes. It is a full service fabric store not just a quilt store but they do show a lot of quilts. I was really surprised when I stopped by for their big sale today. Lots of children's clothes were on display through out the store. They are also selling a lot of patterns from small designers. Everything was well made and very cute. The store was so crowded that I couldn't take pictures of everything. I did get one of the front window. I wish I was a better photographer. Hopefully you will get the idea. I am so lucky to love in a city with some very good fabric stores. Remember if you have a good fabric store nearby please buy from them before you lose them.

Summer Fun

I just finished a fun summer outfit. The shorts are from Ottobre 3/2010. They are the Hippie shorts. I changed the pattern a little bit. The back just called to be hemmed but I added a facing similar to the front. I thought it looked a little bit neater. The top is a pillowslip top cut shorter. It ties on one shoulder. I love the polka dot fabric. I think it really makes a cute summer outfit.

teacher gifts

Tomorrow is the last day for preschool for our little Lucy. We decided to make matching outfits for her teacher's daughters. They are 1 and 4. Her teacher had remarked several time how much she liked Lucy's clothes. I made the good old reliable pillowslip dress. They are so fast and easy. The fabric I got on sale so they did not cost a fortune. The fabric is a gray and white pin stripe,although it doesn't show up in the picture. I really like how the red lady bug spices up the dresses. The little hand stitching really set it off. I hope she likes them as much as I do.

Sweet Feet

Well I got carried away again with shoes. This time it is sandles for summer. I found a cheap pair of sandles with just a ring in front. They were perfect to dress up. I covered the ring with heavy duty sticky velcro. I put the scratchy part here.The soft part will be for the bow. I than started to make bows. 26 of them so far. They are so cute with a bow on them. The girls can change them to match thier outfits. So very fast and simple.
