101 day of school

Well today was the 101 day of school. The only thing that comes to mind is the 101 Dalmations. I could not find dalmation fabric so I went with black and white fabrics. Lucy looks cute in twirly skirts. I wanted to do a differant applique than I used last year for Sophie, so this is the only other one I had. I used black buttons to add a little other interest to the t-shirt. The girls really love their 101 outfits.

Christmas Elegence

Every Christmas the girls Aunt takes them to the party at her country club. It is a very dress up affair. I think all kids should have a opportunity to get dressed up and use their best manners. I saw a outfit in Chasing Fireflies catalog that I loved. I made my version of the outfits that sold for very big bucks. The pants were gaucho's made in Brocade. In the pictures they look more gold. They actually were a very light avocado green. The dress over the pants was a silk Shantung in a darker avocado green. It had a sash that tied in a bow in the back. There were gold buttons on the front. The dresses can be worn without the pants. They really look better in person. They were very elegant. The girls enjoyed all the compliments. They really did look special.

Black and Whites

I am getting in the mood for spring clothes. My new Chasing Fireflies catalog has arrived and really put me in the mood. I made Miss Lucy a Claire Marie topcoat by Izzy & Ivy. It is so fast and easy. I used a black and white print accented in solid black. It is lined in white with black polka dots. I am very happy how it turned out. I used the pattern with the hood. You can do it without the hood and do it in one fabric. I am sure I will be using this pattern again. I hope you like it as much as do.
